Many years ago my brother and his best friend use to come over to the house, and we would have a few beers. We would all sit around drinking beer and listening to Aretha on vinyl. I think we all considered ourselves misfits, and Aretha would keep us company. She seemed to know exactly how we were feeling. I am also doing research on African-American contribution to music.
